I like to live well, and be surrounded by material things, and expensive toys. It is all part of living in this society of material world.”
No matter how you look at it, we live in the Land of Plenty and I am talking about good old USA. This is the United States of the World, the most powerful, the most loved and hated nation in the World. Why do people from all over the world flock to USA? No matter what they say, this is the land of plenty, and our living standard is second to none. The gasoline price keeps going up, and our Government continue to spend like there is no tomorrow. They spend so much is not a laughing matter, because they are at the point they cannot borrow money from the Bank no more… Our Government is the worst example of wasteful spending!
What is popular search all done for the consumers! All in the name to ‘Make You Spend Money’
Our cost of living keeps going up and our money buys less. When the barrel of oil goes up, it basically 
affects every consumable goods. But if you compare us to the other advanced nations, our cost of living is much lower, and our buying power domestically is strong. Just don’t take your hard earned dollar outside of the U.S. to Europe, or Japan, thanks to our pathetic US Government. Japan is so called a poor rich nation with people live in small living space without central heating, and their moneys don’t buy much. Japanese go nuts, when they come to the United States, because how cheap things are here…
We follow “What is popular” and there is no doubt Media hype have enormous affect in our lives daily with what we follow, just like they create Hollywood and Disney characters…
Is our decision dictated by Media hype? No doubt about that too. 
Majority rules in our society that people like what is popular decisions to stay safe and to conform. We watch the news produced by the media, which I don’t care much, but we are affected daily and influenced in our lives by the media. They produce what we watch, what we eat, what we should have, and who we should follow, should not, and all this and that. Obviously we are influenced by what is popular around us. Good thing is that in this land of plenty, there are abundance of Popular things to go around that we don’t run into conflict from scarcity.
Do we care about what is popular, if we did not live in our society of material world?
If there is one thing that I had to choose in the World and I cannot have anything else. I know
my choice! What would it be for you? Mine is “Freedom” from the Media!” If I had my way, I would take a totally different path in my living. I will go live on the tropical beach somewhere in the Pacific, and then I would not care to be surrounded by material things, and I don’t need the media hype or all the bad news to feed me. If my wife divorced me tomorrow, she can have everything we own, the house, cars, furniture as long as I can keep the dog. Then I can go live on the tropical beach. No need to keep track of time. It just a matter of when the sun go up and the day is over when the sun go down… I will be happy with just having bare necessity. Have a palapa roof over my head, clothing – barely, and food. Let me tell you, this is the only thing I will always have and I won’t cut back! I love to eat. I have no dislike in food and “Eating” I consider is my joy of life. That is one thing you cannot take away from me. I exercise and keep in shape to stay healthy to support my habit of eating good, have a few drinks, and smoke a good cigar here and there… Living in a society with full circle of life in the material world dictated by work, driven by necessity of raising kids and maintaining our family, we continue to accumulate all the thing of necessity and unnecessary things fueled by the media and its influence all around us as long as we live in the good old USA. It’s not difficult to choose a different path, if your job did not dictate your living. So, If I can have it the another way, I will leave the city behind, and live quietly on the beach somewhere tropical, and be happy living in the moment… And then obviously, I no longer have a need to watch TV and I don’t have to deal with media hypes!

Because they offer great Protection, just like you purchase electronics and many consumer goods from Costco. And I don’t pay extra for faster method. Because I get my merchandises within a few days even though they tell you several days. Sometimes it makes me think, what is the reason to drive to store? If you cannot bring it home in your car, you may not see it for a week until they can schedule a delivery. You get it faster online! Another key factor for buying online is that many merchants have items only sold online exclusively that not sold in their retail stores. You find better bargain and discount from purchasing online, because they pass on their saving from less overhead cost to you…
